How to use an eSATA port on your laptop or computer?

Most modern motherboards have got a USB/eSATA combination port, so chances are you can already make use of this kind of technology.

But an eSATA port requires a special power connector, and you also need to know how to use it first. Here is what you need to know about using the eSATA connection on your computer.

Well, the first thing that you actually need to have is a Motherboard on your computer that actually has got an eSATA connection port.

For example, you will need a PCI card that has got an eSATA connection. You can also get a USB 3 to eSATA connector if you want to connect your external device to it.

USB 3 has got faster transfer speeds than older USB 2 connections.

How to use eSATA/USB port on your laptop?

If you want to connect an eSATA USB external hard drive to your laptop, then you can make use of its combination USB port.

You can use that external hard drive as a different boot device for your computer. And an eSATA connection can also decrease the boot times as well.
